Müslümanların inanç, ibadet, ahlak gibi konularda sahip oldukları tutum ve davranışlarının en belirleyici unsuru şüphesiz Kur’an-ı Kerim’dir. Müslümanlar onun inzalinden itibaren onu anlama ve yorumlamaya çalışırken öncelikle Hz. Peygamber’in sözlerine ve uygulamalarına bakmışlardır. Onun vefatından sonra ise dönemin alimleri ellerinde bulunan Kur’an ve kendilerine ulaşan sünnet/hadis malzemesi eşliğinde İslam’ın güncel meselelerine çözüm yolları aramışlar ve metodlar geliştirmişlerdir. Onların uygulamış oldukları bu metodlarla vardıkları sonuçlar sadece yaşadıkları dönemde değil sonraki asırlarda hatta günümüzde bile kitlelerin davranışlarında belirleyici bir unsur olarak önemini korumaktadır. Müctehid imamların, meselelere bakış açıları ve Kur’an-Sünnet münasebetine yaklaşımları dikkat ve merak uyandıran bir husus olmaya da devam etmektedir. Onların sünnetin hucciyeti konusunda hem fikir oldukları bilinen bir husus iken sünnetin ne’liği, delil olarak kullanılacak olan rivayetin hususiyetleri veya çelişkili durumlarda izlenen metodlardaki yaklaşımları farklılaşabilmektedir. Bu farklı yaklaşımları, “Delil olma bakımından sünnetin Kur’an’a göre konumu”, “Hüküm koymada sünnetin Kur’an’a nazaran görevi”, “Kur’an-sünnet arasında nesh meselesi” ve “Sünnetin Kur’an’a arzı” gibi gibi başlıklar altında değerlendirmemiz mümkündür.
Abstract The most determining factor of the attitudes and behaviors of Muslims in matters such as belief, worship and morality is undoubtedly the Qur'an. While Muslims were trying to understand and interpret him since his revelation, they first looked at the says and practices of the Prophet. After his death, the scholars of the period sought solutions to the current issues of Islam and developed methods with the Qur'an in their hands and the sunnah/hadith material that reached them. The results they reached with these methods they applied maintain their importance as a determining factor in the behavior of the masses not only in the period they lived, but also in the following centuries and even today. The perspectives of mujtahid imams on issues and their approach to the Quran-Sunnah relationship continue to be an issue worthy of attention and curiosity. It is a known fact that they agree that sunnah is evidence. However, the nature of the sunnah, the characteristics of the narration to be used as evidence, or the approaches in the methods followed in conflicting situations may differ. It is possible to evaluate these different approaches under the headings such as the position of the Sunnah according to the Qur'an in terms of evidence, the role of the Sunnah relative to the Qur'an in making judgments, the issue of abrogation between the Qur'an and the Sunna, and the submission of the Sunnah to the Qur'an.
