Abstract:

In Turkish literature, the letter has reached an important point in the context of literature, especially after the Republic. The letter, which is still controversial whether it is a literary text, reaches another point, especially in the hands of writers and poets. Because published writer and poet letters do not only reveal the private lives of these writers and poets. These writer and poet letters are extremely important in terms of both having a literary value and containing people's views on art and literature. Cahit Sıtkı's Ziya’ya Mektuplar is one of the most beautiful and important examples of this. Because these letters do not reveal only the personal lives of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı and Ziya Osman Saba. These letters mostly reveal Cahit Sıtkı's understanding of poetry, and in these letters, the poet focuses more on the issue of form/style. In the context of form, it focuses more on free poetry, form-content relationship, and sound and word sensitivity. Therefore, in this study, it is focused on within the limits of working on Cahit Sıtkı's understanding of poetry in the context of Ziya’ya Mektuplar. With this, how the poet perceives verse libre, the importance he attaches to the form-content relationship, and the sensitivity of sound and word are emphasized. Cahit Sıtkı's views on the form have been settled on a plane, especially by using sources belonging to more linguistics.
