This study was carried out in Kars in order to determine the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in cats carried out at home. The animal material of the study consisted of a total of 100 cats in different races, 1-6 years old, 52 female and 48 male. After the serum was separated by taking 5ml of blood from these cats, the Sabin-Feldman Dye Test was evaluated in the direction of anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies. 65 out of the 100 cats studied T. gondii antibodies were identified in 1/16 and above tires and were positively evaluated. 35 of these 100 cats (35%) were found to be titrated below 1/16 and were evaluated as negative. When compared the positive status in cats according to age and gender, the difference was statistically unimportant (P>0.05). In 43 seropositive cats, antibodies were determined as 1/16, in 19 1/64, and in 3 1/256. As a result, this study found that T. gondii prevalence in cats careed at home in Kars was 65%. This high ratio was found to be effective that the vast majority of cats were previously taken from the street. According to the results obtained, it is believed that necessary measures should be taken in terms of public health and that more comprehensive work should be carried out in this regard.
