Abstract:

Airline companies usually use two methods to finance aircraft as an asset. These methods are the methods of buying or renting aircraft. Although both methods have advantages and disadvantages, the financial analysis of these methods and the result of this analysis should be addressed and evaluated with other decision criteria. The purpose of this study is to make a financial analysis that will be based on a plane’s purchase-leasing decision and to determine the most suitable option. In the study, a financial analysis was carried out on the basis of the purchase-leasing decision on an example event, and according to the data used, it was found that the leasing decision was more advantageous than the purchase.
