Abstract:

The Caucasus has been one of the regions that many states have wanted to dominate throughout history in terms of its geopolitical and strategic position. Many Turkish communities have come to this region, which has taken a key role between the continents of Asia, Europe and Africa and which Arab geographers call the Cebelü'l-Elsân (Mountains of Languages), and have held it home. One of these communities is Karapapak/Terekeme Turks. The ancient hometown of the Karapapak/Terekeme Turks, known for their fighter capabilities on the horse, is the Borçali region of Georgia, located in the Caucasus. The policy of the Russian landing into the hot seas was taken as the command of Russian Tsar Petro I, and for this purpose the Russians made all kinds of plans and programs. One of these is to capture the Caucasus and clean this region from the Turks. Russia, which confirmed its sovereignty in the region by the 1828 Turkmenistan Treaty, forced thousands of Turkish Karapapak/Terekeme to migrate from the Caucasus, especially from the Borzal position of Georgia. There are many people who have lived in their land, and there are many people who have lived in their land, and there are many people who have lived in their land. In this study, the migration stories of Karapapak/Terekeme Turks are collected, not only what happened during the migration; it is also referred to what happened before and after the migration. The study also included views on the name Karapapak/Terekeme, the origins of the community, the historical course of the migrations they live in.
