Abstract:

In this study, the effects of university students ' environmental concerns, perceptions of renewable energy and their awareness of renewable energy on their intentions to use renewable energy were investigated with a proposed model. The estimation of causal relationship coefficients in the proposed model and the alignment of the model were investigated using structural equationlity modeling (SEM). First, the research model to be used in the study was researched from the literature, then hypotheses were designed to test the relationships in the proposed model, and a measurement tool was designed using the literature to test the hypotheses. The measurement tool was applied to the students of Eskişehir Osmangazi University Department of Statistics and Erciyes University Energy Systems Engineering. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that a one-unit increase in environmental concern would result in a 0.75-unit increase in renewable energy utility perception. It was also estimated that a one-unit increase in awareness of renewable energy would also result in a 0.47-unit increase in the intention to use renewable energy.
