Abstract:

In the framework of the study, a ethnographic study was conducted to understand the social gender roles in the Biga Peninsula (Troas) in Bozköy in northwestern Anadolu. The aim of the ethnographic study is to prepare ethno-archaeological basic data on social gender roles in the prehistoric period of Bozköy-Hanaytepe Höyüğü and to draw attention to social gender roles. In the study, the impressions in Bozköy resulted in the social gender roles evaluated under the titles of private, public and agricultural land in the spatial and non-spatial context. In the interior and outer areas of work, many of the architectural elements have been used. In the fields of agriculture and business outside the village, agriculture has been benefited from the economic values and material objects based on livestock. The economic structure of the village (agriculture, livestock, olive farming, etc.)The impact of the rural economy on the housing architecture (tipolic differences), the demographic structure of the village, the impact of social changes on the housing architecture has been assessed. The relationship of the village with the surrounding settlements, the crafts or crafts in the village, the social gender roles in the light of the indoor and outer architectural elements, the work division in the agricultural land and outside the village in the indoor and outer context between women and men, the position of women and men in the economy has been taken into account.
