Ayla Kullu ’nun Bir Göçmen Kuşlu O ve Emir Bey’in Kızları adlı romanları, bir ikilemenin on Uç yıl arayla yayınlanmış iki parçasıdır. Bu romanlarda yazar, yüz yıllık bir süreç içinde Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun yıkılışını, Kurtuluş Savaşı’nı, Türkiye Cumhuriyeli'nin kuruluşunu ve 1990'lı yıllara dek geçirdiği çeşitti evreleri Emir Bey ailesinin çevresinde işler. Romanları birbirine bağlayan temel kişi Emir Bey gibi görünse de asıl odak noktası, Emir Bey’in yaşamındaki kadınlardır ve olaylar çoğu kez kadınların duyguları, gözlemleri ile aktarılır. Bu makalede, söz konusu romanlardaki kadınlar işlev ve etkinliklerine göre değerlendirilmektedir.
