A new settlement was discovered in middle Rough Cilicia. This settlement located at the north of the ancient Anemurium city was named as Ovabaşı settlement, the name of the nearest modern village. The most impressive ones among the ruins found in a dense forestry are the grave houses in the necropolis and two churches. The mostly two storeyed grave houses carry similar properties with that found in such settlements as Anemurium, Selinus, Iotape, Syedra, Antiocheia ad Cragum. One of the grave houses was one storied in a high aedicula form. Also, remains of a fresco were found in this grave. Outside the grave houses a simple rock-cut tomb and a marble sarcophagus lid were found. The tombs in the necropolis were dated between the middle of the 2nd and the 3rd centuries A.D. depending on the present architectural clues. Also, these dates must be the most shining period for the settlement
