It is one of our cities that has managed to maintain the traditional structure of Bartin, which is located in the West Black Sea Region and has been home to a variety of civilizations with interest in its geographical location throughout the history. However, traditional houses have been destroyed, burned or destroyed due to fire and flood catastrophes over time, the demand for the use of new housing architecture or disputes between brothers and sisters. This has caused the traditional structures to remain disrupted within the city. In the study, 30 traditional home plans, materials and technical characteristics, which were addressed in the center of the bar, taking into account the levels of conservation and different characteristics, as well as specifically front arrangements and interior and exterior wooden decorations, were evaluated. Traditional houses belonging to the late Ottoman era show the general characteristics of Turkish houses in terms of plan, while they reflect the characteristics of Istanbul houses in terms of wood use and wood decoration in the fronts. It is believed to be seen by the port trade channel made with Istanbul, Art Nouveau and Ampir, which appear to us as the 19th century favourites, are applied to wood materials. In the revised houses, while the wood decoration fronts are concentrated, the interior is quite isolated.
