Abstract:

Disasters lead to significant loss of lives, while on the other hand, they lead to structural damage in the places where users live. Post-catastropic structural damages prevent housing, health, education and various infrastructure services. Education is also one of the areas of service that should not be interrupted in this process and should be focused on sensitively. It is necessary to quickly create temporary educational structures in accordance with the requirements so that the educational facilities that students have before the catastrophe can continue without any reduction after the catastrophe. In order to prevent excessive consumption of resources, it is also necessary to ensure that units create resources for reuse in a possible disaster and appropriate land, materials and construction systems should be selected and implemented. Therefore, the concept of sustainability in all life processes, such as place selection, design, production, installation, use and post-use, of the temporary training units to be created after a disaster should be taken into account. In this study, the aim of the "action steps in life processes of sustainable post-disaster temporary education structures" is to be created in accordance with the sustainability standards. Sustainable temporary education structure will contribute to the continuation of students’ training in the appropriate places after a catastrophe, the country’s economy and the conservation of natural resources.
