Aim: To evaluate the clinical features of eye emergency patients that admitted to Tokat State Hospital emergency department. Material and methods: We scanned emergency patients with eye diseases diagnosis data, retrospectively between January 2013 and September 2013. Patients were clinically divided in to two groups; group 1 who treated with simple medical intervention, group 2 who required further medical intervention. Results: The medical records of 1867 patients were included in the study. The rate of the patients who treated with simple medical intervention were 94.8%, and the rate of the patients who required further medical intervention were 5.2%. The patients who treated with simple medical intervention were constitute of mostly conjunctivitis (89.7%) and the patients who needed further medical intervention were mostly acute angle closure glaucoma (2.5%). Conclusion: The majority of patients admitted to the emergency clinic were treated by a simple medical intervention. The patients who required further treatment which had high risk of blindness constituted a small part of the patients who admitted to the emergency room.
