So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the nurses' knowledge level about clinical samples and to define the in-service training needs. Material and Method: Totally, 102 nurses working in internal and surgical wards were included in the study. Participants were interviewed face to face with two parted surveys for determining information levels about clinical samples and sociodemographical characteristics. Twenty questions were asked under the main topics of general laboratory information, clinical samples, sample collection techniques and sample transport/ storage conditions. The answers gathered regarding the questionnaire were evaluated statistically according to sociodemographical characteristics of nurses.Results: It was determined that there were a significant statistical difference (p=0.007) between duty center and right answer scores. Nurses working in internal clinics were more successful. It was seen that there was a significant statistical difference (p=0.009) between age and level of knowledge on clinical samples, and over 35 age groups were unsatisfied. There were no major differences (p=0.645) between education and knowledge level. Additionally, there was no statistical difference (p=0.289) between work experience groups according to knowledge.
