Abstract:

The aim of this study is to be evaluated in accordance with the opinions of the teachers of the primary mathematical teaching degree program, which began to be implemented from the 2018-2019 educational year. The participants of the study, adopted by the Qualitative Research Approach and designed with the comprehensive one-case study plan, are 12 faculty members who work in the field of mathematical education at a state university in the Eastern Anadolu Region. The study used a semi-configured conversation form developed by researchers as a data collection tool and the visual analysis technique was used in the analysis of data. The findings obtained are submitted under topics: opinions on the courses, opinions on the problems that may occur and opinions on the qualifications of the program. The results obtained in this regard: the existence of contradictions on the courses closed in the renewed program; the overall positive conformity of the newly opened courses, selective courses and courses to the class level; the credit and content of the courses are negative in terms of field knowledge courses; the number of problems in the corporate size, the student size and the material size may occur; the program is sufficient in terms of the teaching profession; the majority of participants have some deficiencies in the program in terms of the ability to learn and teach mathematics with the integration of technology into education. In this context, it has been determined that the updated program is more focused on field education than field knowledge.
