Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de birincil enerji tüketimi, yenilenebilir enerji tüketimi, karbondioksit salınımı ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki uzun dönemli eşbütünleşme ilişkisini ARDL sınır testi ile araştırmaktır. Bu bağlamda değişkenler, Peseran, Shin ve Smith (2001) tarafından geliştirilen ARDL sınır testi yaklaşımı yardımıyla, 1990-2019 dönemine ait yıllık veriler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizde elde edilen bulgular çerçevesinde, değişkenler arasında uzun dönemde eşbütünleşme ilişkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu çerçevede, birincil enerji tüketimi ve ekonomik büyümenin karbondioksit salınımı üzerinde etkisinin pozitif yönde olduğu ancak yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin karbondioksit salınımı üzerinde pozitif yönlü bir etkisinin olmadığı görülmüştür. Öte yandan elde edilen değişkenlerin uzun dönem katsayılarına göre Türkiye’de ele alınan dönemde, birincil enerji tüketiminin ekonomik büyümeye kıyasla uzun dönemde karbon salınımını daha fazla arttırdığı yani çevreye daha fazla zarar verdiği elde edilen bulgular arasında yer almaktadır.
The aim of this study is to investigate the long-term relationship between primary energy consumption, renewable energy consumption, carbon dioxide emissions, and economic growth in Turkey by cointegration test. In this context, with the help of the ARDL boundary test approach developed by Peseran et all (2001), it was analyzed using annual data for the period 1990-2019. Within the framework of the findings obtained in the analysis, it was concluded that there is a long-term cointegration relationship between the variables. In this context, primary energy consumption and economic growth; It has been observed that the effect on carbon dioxide emissions is positive, but renewable energy consumption has no effect on carbon dioxide emissions. On the other hand, according to the long-term coefficients of the variables obtained, it is among the findings that primary energy consumption in Turkey increases carbon emissions more in the long-term compared to economic growth, that is, it causes more damage to the environment.
