Günümüzde duygusal zekâ seviyesi yüksek olan kişilerin, karşısındakilerin duygularını daha rahat anlayabildikleri ve çevreleri ile daha iyi etkileşim içerisinde oldukları bilinmektedir. Antrenörlükte başarılı olabilmenin ortak özelliği ise sporcularının ve çevresindekilerin duygularını anlayarak, kendi duygularını onlara iletebilme becerisine sahip olmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Ankara’da görev yapan antrenörlerin duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Tarama modeli kullanılan bu çalışmanın evreni Ankara ilinde görev yapan antrenörler olup, çalışma grubu; Ankara Gençlik ve Spor İl Müdürlüğünde görev yapan 201 antrenörden oluşmaktadır. Veriler; Petrides ve Furnham (2001) tarafından geliştirilen “Duygusal Zekâ Özellik Ölçeği Kısa Formu” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı; .86 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan ölçeğin normallik dağılımları ölçümlerinde; Çarpıklık (Skewness) ve Basıklık (Kurtosis) değerlerine göre verilerin non-parametrik dağıldığı belirlenmiştir. Antrenörlerin duygusal zekâ seviyelerine ilişkin puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark, Mann Whitney-U ve Kruskal Wallis H testleri ile saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, Gençlik ve Spor İl müdürlüğünde görevli antrenörlerin “toplam duygusal zekâ beceri” seviyelerinin orta seviyede olduğu belirlenmiştir. Antrenörlerin duygusal zekâ düzeyleri; mesleki deneyim alt boyutunda 18-23 yıl olan antrenörlerin mesleki deneyiminin yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda antrenörlerin duygusal zekâ seviyeleri ile yaşları, cinsiyetleri, medeni durumları ve eğitim seviyelerine ilişkin puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark, anlamlı değilidir. Antrenörlerin, antrenörlük tecrübesi değişkenine göre duygusal zekâ seviyeleri arasında fark olduğu saptanmıştır.
It is known today that people with a high level of emotional intelligence can understand the emotions of those who face them more comfortably and interact better with their surroundings. The common feature of being successful in training is the ability to communicate their own feelings to them by understanding the emotions of the athletes and those around them. The aim of this study is to study the level of emotional intelligence of the coaches who work in Ankara. The scan model is the universe of this work that is employed in the Ankara province and the work group consists of 201 coaches who are employed in the Ankara Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate. The data was obtained using the "Scorte Form of the Scale of Emotional Intelligence" developed by Petrides and Furnham (2001). The Cronbach Alpha reliability ratio of the study is calculated as .86. In the measurement of the normal distribution of the scale used in the study, it was determined that the data were non-parametricly distributed according to the values of Skewness (Skewness) and Curtosis (Kurtosis). The difference between the coach’s emotional intelligence levels was determined by the Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis H tests. According to the results of the research, the level of "comprehensive emotional intelligence skills" of the coaches in the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate has been determined at the middle level. The level of emotional intelligence of the coaches is high; the professional experience of the coaches of 18-23 years in the low dimension of professional experience is high. According to the study, the difference between the coach’s emotional intelligence levels and the average score in terms of age, gender, civic status and education levels is meaningless. The trainer has found a difference between the levels of emotional intelligence according to the variable of training experience.

The purpose of this study; It is the examination of the emotional intelligence levels of the trainers working in Ankara. The universe of this study, which uses screening model, is the coaches working in Ankara. The study group; It consists of 201 coaches working in Ankara Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate. Data; It was obtained using the “Emotional Intelligence Feature Scale Short Form” developed by Petrides and Furnham (2001). Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the study; It was calculated as .86. In the normality distribution measurements of the scale used in the study; According to Skewness and kurtosis values, non-parametric distribution of data was determined. The difference between the average scores of the trainers' emotional intelligence levels was determined by Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis H tests. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the “total emotional intelligence skill” levels of the trainers working at the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports are at a medium level. Emotional intelligence levels of coaches; It has been determined that the professional experience of coaches, who are 18-23 years in the sub-dimension of professional experience, is high. As a result of the study, the difference between the emotional intelligence levels of the trainers and their ages, genders, marital status and education levels is not significant. It has been determined that there is a difference between emotional intelligence levels of trainers according to the professional experience of coaches’ variable.
