Amaç: Araştırma, sağlık yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin duygusal zeka düzeylerini ve duygusal zeka düzeylerini etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak planlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın verileri sosyo demografik özellikleri içeren anket formu ve Bar On EQ-i Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmaya 325 sağlık yüksekokulu öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri yüzdelik, ortalama, t testi ve varyans analizi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma grubunun yaş ortalamasının 21.52 ±1.80 olduğu, öğrencilerin %32.0'sinin ikinci sınıfta öğrenim gördüğü, %80.0'inin kız öğrenci olduğu, %60.9'unun hemşirelik bölümünde okuduğu belirlenmiştir. Cinsiyet ile duygusal zeka düzeyi arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır (p=0.003). Kız öğrencilerin duygusal zeka ölçeği puanı erkek öğrencilerden yüksektir (p<0.05). 20 yaş ve altındaki öğrencilerin duygusal zeka puanları 194.6±34.8, 23 yaş ve üzeri öğrencilerin 203.0±34.7'dir (p> 0.05). Birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin duygusal zeka puan ortalamaları 192.7±33.8, ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ise 208.4±39.8'dir (p>0.05). Kendisini “konuşkangirişken” olarak tanımlayan öğrencilerin duygusal zeka ölçeği puan ortalaması 212.6±32.3, içe dönük olarak tanımlayanların ise 192.6 ±38.0'dır (p<0.05). Sonuç: Sağlık yüksekokulu öğrencilerine duygusal zekanın gelişimini destekleyen eğitim ve danışmanlık programları oluşturulması önerilebilir.
Purpose: The research is designed to identify the factors affecting the levels of emotional intelligence and levels of emotional intelligence of health college students. Tool and Method: The research data was obtained with an survey form containing social demographic characteristics and Bar On EQ-i Emotional Intelligence Scale. The study was attended by 325 medical students. The data of the study was evaluated using percentage, average, t test and variance analysis. The study found that the average age of the group was 21.52 ± 1.80, that 32.0% of students studied in second class, 80.0% were girls, and 60.9% studied in the nursing department. There is a statistically significant difference between gender and emotional intelligence level (p=0. by 003 . The scale of emotional intelligence of girls students is higher than the scale of male students (p<0.05). The emotional intelligence score of students under the age of 20 is 194.6±34.8, 203.0±34.7 of students under the age of 23 (p> 0.05). The average emotional intelligence score of first-class students is 192.7±33.8 and second-class students 208.4±39.8 (p>0.05). The emotional intelligence scale of students who define themselves as "speaking" is 212.6±32.3 and 192.6±38.0 of those who define themselves as intrinsic (p<0.05). Result: Health college students may be advised to create educational and consulting programs that support the development of emotional intelligence.
