Osmanlı Devleti’nin sonunu hazırlayan 30 Ekim 1918 tarihli Mondros Mütarekesi imzalandıktan sonra, Mustafa Kemal’in önderliğinde saldırgan emperyalist devletlere karşı - son derece güç koşullar altında - bir bağımsızlık savaşı verilmiş ve ülke işgalden arındırılmıştır. Söz konusu bu bağımsızlık mücadelesinin, Osmanlı’nın geride bıraktığı “borç ekonomisi” olarak adlandırılabilecek bir ekonomik zeminde - deyim yerindeyse - bulup, buluşturarak verilen bir mücadele olduğu da unutulmamalıdır. Büyük bir toplumsal dönüşümü gerçekleştiren 1923 Cumhuriyeti’nin temelleri de yine bu zeminde atılmıştır. Hem yoklukların çarpan olduğu bu yolculuğun ağır yükünü omuzlarında taşıyan bir kişi hem de ekonomik bağımsızlığın devlet hayatında oynadığı rolü - henüz yolculuğa çıkmadan - bilen bir lider olarak Mustafa Kemal, bırakınız kuruluşu, daha kurtuluş aşamasında önceliği hep ekonomiye vermiştir. Bu çalışmada cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında ulaşılmak istenen “milli ekonomi” hedefi ve aşamalı olarak hayata geçirilen ekonomi modelleri gözden geçirilerek, Gazi Mustafa Kemal’in söz ve demeçleri ekseninde, O’nun, dönemin üretim fabrikalarına ait şeref (anı) defterlerine yansıyan “üretim heyecanı” irdelendi.
After the signing of the Mondros Treaty on October 30, 1918, which prepared the end of the Ottoman State, an independent war was given against the aggressive imperialist states under Mustafa Kemal's leadership - under extreme conditions of power - and the country was cleansed from occupation. It should not be forgotten that this struggle for independence is a struggle given by finding and meeting on a economic ground which can be called the "border economy" behind which the Ottoman has left behind. The foundations of the Republic of 1923, which carried out a major social transformation, were again placed on this ground. As a leader who knows both the heavy burden of this journey in which the absences are affected and the role economic independence plays in the state life - not yet out of the journey - Mustafa Kemal has always given priority to the economy in the more liberation phase of the organization. In this study, by reviewing the "national economy" goal to be achieved in the early years of the republic and the economic models gradually implemented, in the axis of Gazi Mustafa Kemal's words and statements, the "production excitement" that he reflected in the honour (an) records of the production factories of the time.
