Ar-Ge harcamaları yenilikte, verimlilik artışında ve ekonomik büyümede rol alan önemli bir motordur. Ar-Ge harcamalarına gereken önemi veren ülkeler, bilim ve teknoloji alanında ilerlemiş ve daha rekabetçi hale gelmişlerdir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri Sektörü Ar-Ge harcamalarının gelişimi hakkında bilgi verilmiş, Ar-Ge harcamaları ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi Granger nedensellik testi yardımıyla 2003-2017 yılları arası veriler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla, Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri sektörünün, sürdürülebilir ekonomik büyüme için önemi ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonuçları, BİT Ar-Ge harcamaları ve BİT sektörü hasılası arasında iki yönlü bir nedensellik bulgusunu ortaya koymaktadır. Diğer bir deyişle, Ar-Ge harcamaları BİT sektörü hasılasını, BİT hasılası da Ar-Ge harcamalarını olumlu olarak etkilemektedir.
R&D spending is an important engine that plays an important role in innovation, increased efficiency and economic growth. The countries that give the importance to their R&D spending have advanced in the field of science and technology and have become more competitive. In this study, information was given about the development of the R&D spending of the Information and Communication Technologies Sector in Turkey, R&D spending and economic growth relationship Granger cause test was analyzed using data between 2003-2017 years. Therefore, the importance of the Information and Communication Technologies sector has been revealed for sustainable economic growth. The results of the study reveal a two-sided reason between the ITR R & D spending and the ITS sector earnings. In other words, R&D spending positively affects the income of the BIT sector, and BIT spending also positively affects the R&D spending.

Countries that attach importance to R&D spending have advanced in science and technology and have become more competitive. In this study, information is given about the R&D expenditures development of Information and Communication Technologies Sector in Turkey and the relationship between R&D expenditures and economic growth is analysed with Granger causality test using data from 2003-2017. Therefore, the importance of the Information and Communication Technologies sector for sustainable economic growth is demonstrated. The results of the study reveal a bidirectional causality between ICT R&D expenditures and ICT sector revenue. In other words, R&D expenditures positively affect the ICT sector revenue, and ICT revenue positively affects R&D expenditures.
