Abstract:

The lessons contain many abstract subjects and concepts. This situation makes it difficult for students to properly structure their concepts in their minds, making it difficult to provide meaningful and lasting learning. Concept teaching can be provided by the organization and use of effective teaching environments by teachers. The aim of this study is to develop the guidance material based on the prediction-observation-explanation method (TGA) for the teaching of the subject of the Earth's Movements in the teaching of the science and to determine the impact of students on cognitive learning and conceptual errors. The study was conducted with the help of a single-group pre-test final test, simple experimental pattern. The study’s work group consists of 16 students who are continuing to fourth class in a primary school. The success test developed by researchers has been used in the collection of data from the concept map and semi-configured interview form. According to the findings, there is a statistically significant difference between the group’s pre-test and final test points. However, the discussions have come to the conclusion that the TGA method is an effective method in conceptual change. The concept map used in the research process, the concept cartoon, the TGA method and the interviews have been found to be very effective in the identification and elimination of concept errors. It is recommended that these activities be used in the teaching process.
