Abstract:

From childhood, the recognition of the body has been of great importance in the development of basic senses as well as in the organization of self and identity. The relationship that the baby establishes with the mother through touch is the most fundamental process in the realization of the limits of the body. The awareness of the limits of the body leads to the awareness of the limits of the body and the knowledge of the forms of violation of these limits and how they can be reacted in case of violation. In cases of sexual abuse against children, the child’s awareness of the body limits is one of the most important variables to be considered in the prevention of sexual abuse. The purpose of this study is to transmit the concept of approval to children in relation to body awareness and the good-bad touch distinction and touch behavior. For this purpose, an action research was carried out with students of primary school age. A intervention program focused on the body limits, good-bad touch distinction and approval concepts has been developed, this program has been evaluated by comparing the data collected before and after the program by collecting the data of the acquisition of these concepts. The results of the study showed that after the intervention program, children’s awareness of the body limits changed in a positive direction and they used the concept of approval more frequently in the context of the types of touch. As a result of these findings, the applied program has been shown to be effective in children realizing the body boundaries and acquiring the concept of approval in this context.
