2020

Abstract:

Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the agricultural suitability degrees of the Pınarbaşı district (Kayseri) land
2020

Abstract:

As a workplace, the administrative boundaries of the Pınarbaşı district located in the Upper Redness section have been selected. Although the majority of the population is engaged in agriculture in the district with extensive land existence and abundant water resources, the experience of rural poverty has brought the question of whether the land is used in accordance with the potential of the people who are not satisfied with agricultural productivity and survival. Therefore, in this study, which is aimed at determining agricultural suitability degrees of the Pınarbaşı district lands, the Multi-Critical Decisioning (CKKV) techniques have been used together with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Geographic Information Systems (CBS). In order to determine the degrees of agricultural conformity, literary information and geographical conditions of the field have been determined by the main criteria and the sub-criteria range of them. Each main criterion is compared with dual comparisons, priority values and consistency rates are obtained. Weight values and sub-criteria points are used to make conflict between layers. The map of achieved agricultural conformity is re-classed according to the FAO criteria. According to this, 2.15% of the district land is "extremely suitable" in terms of agriculture; 35.26% is "mediate suitable"; 16.74% is "marginally suitable" while 45.85% is "unsuitable" for agricultural activity. Compared to the agricultural suitability map, the current land use has been concluded that there is no agricultural use of land for the field, and that agricultural activities are carried out on "extremely" and "mediate" land-suitable fields. The cause of the existing problem is the negative climate and soil conditions of the site and the user-caused errors. To overcome this situation, the soil should be used without tiredness within the body, appropriate watering methods should be preferred and economic value high alternative agricultural products should be selected.

Determination Of Agricultural Suitability Levels Of Pinarbasi District (kayseri) Lands By Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (ahp)
2020

Abstract:

The study area is located in the Upper Kizilirmak section Pinarbasi district administrative boundaries were selected. Despite the fact that the majority of the population is engaged in agriculture in Pinarbasi district lands, which have a large land presence and abundant water resources, the rural poverty in the district and the dissatisfaction with the agricultural productivity and livelihood of the people have raised the question of whether the land is used in accordance with its potential. For this reason, Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were used together to determine the agricultural suitability levels of Pinarbasi district lands. In order to determine the agricultural suitability degrees, the main criteria and their sub-criteria ranges have been determined by taking into consideration the literature information and the geographical conditions of the site. Each main criterion was compared with binary comparisons; priority values and consistency ratio were obtained. Weighted overlay was performed using the weight values and sub criterion points reached. Obtained agricultural suitability map was reclassified according to Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) criteria and a result map was produced. Accordingly, 2.15% of the district land is “extremely suitable” in terms of agriculture; 35.26% are “moderately suitable”; 16.74% are “marginally suitable”, 45.85% are “not suitable” for agricultural activity. When the agricultural suitability map is compared with the current land use, it has been concluded that there is no agricultural misuse for the field, and that agricultural activities are carried out on “extremely” and “moderate” agricultural lands. The reason for the existing problem is the unfavorable climatic and soil conditions of the site and user-induced errors. In order to overcome this situation, it should be used within the soil structure, appropriate irrigation methods should be preferred and alternative agricultural products with high economic value should be selected.
