Özet:

The study was to understand and compare the anthropometric profile of students from 7 to 10 years old, living in the City of Palhoça (SC). This direction was chosen by a descriptive exploratory. In its operation, it was collected 202 students with data on weight, height and body composition. The measurement of body fat was measured by a skinfold caliper, CESCORF model, with opening pressure of 10g/mm2. It was found that the percentage of fat (% BF) was not significantly different between males and females (20.64% and 19.24%) respectively. The values of body mass index (BMI) for both males and for females showed no significant differences (51.48%), the classification of normal weight, compared with a low weight percentage was similar in both genders, 23.76% in males and 24.75% in females. Although the classification of overweight females exhibit a higher rate than males (14.85% and 8.92%) since the male has a higher percentage of obesity (15.84%) when compared to females presenting obesity (8.92%).It can be concluded that most students are in the classification euthrofic (regular weight) with it the risk of chronic diseases are much smaller, resulting in a better quality of life for them.
