Abstract:

Transparency, justice, accountability and responsibility, which are the basic principles of corporate management, are important for the success of companies. Considering that the efficient and efficient use of corporate management practices can reduce funding costs, companies are expected to be positively affected by these practices. The aim of the study in this context is to study the effects of corporate management practices on the corporate capital structure. For this purpose, Panel data analysis was made using the variables of the corporate structure and corporate management practices of companies trading between 2009-2017 in the Borsa Istanbul Corporate Management Index. In the study, the rated rate, the short-term and long-term debt rate, the self-resource rate were used as a dependent variable while the female member, the size of the board of directors, the independent member rate, foreign ownership, the age of the company, the size of the company and the active profit rate were used as an independent variable.   The results of the analysis found that there was a meaningful relationship between foreign ownership, independent membership rate, female membership rate, active profitability rate and company size and the variables of capital structure in general.
