Abstract:

In this research, it is aimed to examine the achievements in the 2018 social studies curriculum in terms of field trips. The research was designed according to the case study, which is one of the qualitative research designs. In the research, document analysis, which is frequently used in case studies, was conducted. In the research, document analysis was carried out by referring to the expert opinion. While deciding which document will be the data source according to the purpose of the research, the 2018 social studies curriculum data source was determined by using the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods. Then, the data source was analyzed by referring to the expert opinion, the codes were created in the form of frequencies and the generated frequencies were presented in tables. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most achievements related to the field trips were the achievements at the fourth and fifth grade levels. In the study, it was concluded that the learning area associated with the field trips and the learning area on which the experts agreed the most was the fifth grade "Culture and Heritage" learning area. In the study, it was concluded that according to the social studies teachers who attended the sixth and seventh grade social studies classes, both the class teachers who took the social studies course in the fourth grade and the social studies teachers who took the social studies course in the fifth grade, they could take their students on field trips.
