Old Turkish religious terminology emerged as a result of transferring the concepts of related religions and teachings into Turkish by Turks who adopted Buddhism, Manichaeism and Islam in the periods of Old Uyghur, Karakhanid and Khwarezm Turkish. Uyghurs, one of the Turkic peoples who adopted teachings such as Buddhism and Manichaeism, learned the information about the related religious belief system through translations they made from languages such as Chinese, Tocharian, Sanskrit and Tibetan. It is seen in the historical Uyghur texts that Uyghur priests belonging to both teachings responded to the terms expressing the relevant teachings within the translation committee established by them, with the awareness of ‘Turkishization’. In particular, the ‘Turkishization’ system applied by the Buddhist Uyghur monks instead of directly borrowing the religious terms from a foreign language is seen in the religious texts of the Karakhanid Turks who adopted Islam in Turkish religious terminology. With the inheritance they received from the Uyghurs who experienced the Buddha religion for centuries, the Karakhanid Turks took many concepts belonging to Islam from the Buddhist Uyghur vocabulary (ugan ‘=Skr. ṛṣi→Tanrı’, azun ‘=Skr. gati→dünya’, tamu ‘=Skr. naraka→cehennem’ vs.) and adapted these terms to the religion of Islam. The religion of Islam, which was adopted by the Karakhanids as the state religion in the 10th century, brought Turkish Qur'an Translations with it. During the Karakhanid period, TİEM 73 (The Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, Nr. 73) and Rylands translations, among the Qur'an translations made directly from Persian instead of Arabic, contain important materials to be discussed in terms of philologists in terms of explaining the concepts of the Islamic religion in Turkish words. In this respect, the present study deals with the appearance of the verbs egtüle-~igdüle-~iktüle-, which was first seen with the meaning of 'to feed' in Old Uyghur Turkish, in the form of egtülegen~igtülegen/iktülegen in the testimony of Islamic-Turkish texts. In the study, first of all, evaluations will be made on the expression Rabb, one of the names of Allah, and then the related names egtülegen~igtülegen /iktülegen will be included, and the linguistic aspect of the concept will be revealed with the help of various etymological dictionaries.
