Introduction: Self-perception about body image is the result of several elements that are modified by society during the life of each person. Physical Education scholars are influenced by these changes due to the approximation of this area to the heath transformation vehicle and attempts to reach the current beauty standard. Objective: To evaluate the perception of the Physical Education course students regarding body image, and the influence of sociodemographic factors, life habits and anthropometric profile in the perception of this self-image. Materials and Methods: Quantitative, descriptive study, with cross-sectional design, carried out with Physical Education course scholars. A random probabilistic sampling was carried out with final selection of 248 students with questionnaire application containing sociodemographic variables, anthropometric profile and an silhouettes scale. The data were tabulated using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), 21.0 version. Results: Regarding body image, it was observed that 66.5% were dissatisfied. When relating the perception of the body image with the sociodemographic factors, life habits, period studied and anthropometric profile, several associations were observed. After the multiple regression analysis, the BMI variable remained associated with body image, evidencing that the students with the highest prevalence of overweight/obesity were dissatisfied with body image. Discussion: These parameters are similar to many studies in the literature. Conclusion: There were a large number of participants were dissatisfied with their image, being the female and the classifieds as overweight/obese, were the most influential factors.
