Abstract:

With the development of the industry, the issue of health and safety at work is becoming increasingly important. The application of ergonomic science, which is necessary for a person to live in safe, healthy, comfortable and aesthetic conditions in every industry and business field, is extremely beneficial for both the employee and the employer. This study focuses on the ergonomic workplace principles and proposes for solutions to the risks that may arise in situations that do not comply with the ergonomic principles. The QEC method for the detection of ergonomic risks in the retail stores of an international textile company, the ergonomic risk measurement survey called "Ergonomic Checkpoints" developed by the ILO, a risk measurement model consisting of the CMDQ muscle-skeletal system disorder scale was applied to 151 employees. The research results have identified many ergonomic risk elements in employees and suggested solutions to them. The proposed model is expected to be beneficial for managers, occupational health and safety experts in developing ergonomic risk awareness in and solutions recommendations in risky work areas.
