Abstract:

The study aims to evaluate the perceptions of self by the 6-9 year-old primary school students, developed by Marsh, Craven and Debus (1991) by making the Turkish adaptation of the Self Description Questionnaire-Infants Testing (Self Description Questionnaire-Infants Testing) as a valid and reliable measurement tool. The work group of the research designed in the general scan model consists of 417 students of the 2nd and 3rd grade 6-9 years of age who studied in Karaman in the 2017-2018 educational year. The linguistic equality of the Self-Determination Scale for Children, which consists of sixteen and eight subdimensions, was provided; expert opinion for scope validity in validity analyses; verifying factor analysis for structural validity and external measure validity tested. For reliability, the Cronbach Alfa internal consistency ratio, material test total correlation ratio, test-up test correlation ratio were calculated and sub-top 27% group comparisons for material differentiability were made. All analyses have found that the Self-Determination Scale for Children is a valid and reliable measurement tool for 6-9 years of age children.
