Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the self-consciousness of employees and their emotional commitments. The demographic variations in the relationship between self-consciousness and attitude commitment will also be examined in the subject of the study. The research was done on employees of the ASAŞ Filter Factory working in the automotive and industrial field in Hatay Illi. The research was conducted by 159 of 250 employees. To determine the levels of awareness to participants, the awareness scale developed by Fenigstein, Scheier and Buss (1975) by Akın, Abacı and Öveç (2007) was used by Meyer, Allen and Smith (1993) to determine the level of behavioral commitment and the organizational commitment scale made by Wasti (2000) to adapt to Turkey. 10 of the survey forms collected were missing or several stylish combined labels were not included in the analysis process. Data analysis used the SPSS 17.0 statistical program.The study found that the employee's emotional intelligence is as important as the intellectual intelligence and the state of self-consciousness affects the emotional commitment. It can also be said that the level of education as demographic features and the age factor have a significant impact on the emotional commitment and subdimensions of self-consciousness, the levels of emotional commitment in the employees of organizations that include employees in the emotional intelligence programs will increase.
