Abstract:

In this study, the reasons for the failure of primary school students in mathematics classes were studied according to the opinions of classmates. In the study, the methods of research have been used. The study group consists of 12 class teachers determined by measurement sampling methods for sample purposes. A semi-configured conversation form developed by the researcher as a data collection tool has been used. The research data was analyzed through the MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022 (18.2.5) program using content analysis from quality data analysis techniques. The study concluded that in the failures of primary school students in mathematics lessons, individual factors, family factors, factors derived from the teacher and the teaching program, and factors derived from the physical possibilities of the school were effective.
