Amaç: Dünyada ve Türkiye’deki ceza infaz kurumlarında gerçekleşen intihar davranışlarının, genel nüfusa oranla çok daha fazla olduğuna dair birçok araştırma mevcuttur. Bu oranlar arasındaki farkın oluşmasında, gerek ceza infaz kurumlarının içinde bulunduğu mekandan kaynaklanan fiziki koşullarının gerekse içinde barındırdığı kitlenin sahip olduğu dezavantajlı durumunun etkisi ise yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu koşullar göz önüne alındığında cezaevlerinde bireyleri intihara sürükleyen birçok faktörün var olduğu düşünülebilir. Bu çalışma ile söz konusu faktörler arasından, werther etkiside denilen kopya intiharların, Türkiye’deki ceza infaz kurumlarında gerçekleşen intihar davranışları açısından oluşturduğu risk faktörünün belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki araştırma, Türkiye’deki 18 cezaevinde intihar girişiminde bulunmuş 102 tutuklu ve hükümlü ile 2015 yılında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hazırlanan anket formunun uygulanması ile tutuklu ve hükümlülere ait demografik bilgiler, intihar girişimi sonrası ve öncesine dair tutuklu ve hükümlülerin düşünce ve duyguları toplanmış ardından SPSS programına işlenerek analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın yapıldığı kurumlarla sınırlı olmak kaydı ile kopya intiharların etki oranını %28 olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak gerek kurum içinden gerekse kurum dışında gerçekleşen intihar davranışlarına dair bilgi ve haberlerin cezaevinde duyulmasının, tutuklu ve hükümlüleri etkileyebilme potansiyeli bulunduğuna değerlendirilmektedir. Bu nedenle, kaynağı her neresi olursa olsun intihar davranışı ile ilgili bilgi ve haberlerin, kurumda dikkatli bir şekilde verilmesi için gerekli tedbirlerin alınmasının yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
Goal: There are many studies in the world and in Turkey that suicide behaviors occur in criminal execution institutions are much more than the general population. In the form of the difference between these rates, the effect of the disadvantaged state of the audience in which the physical conditions arising from the place in which the punishment bodies are located is undeniable. Considering these conditions, it can be thought that there are many factors that drive individuals to suicide in prisons. Among these factors, the study aimed at determining the risk factor in which copies of suicides in Werther effect are created in terms of suicide behaviors in the criminal execution institutions in Turkey. The investigation was conducted in 2015 with 102 prisoners and prisoners who attempted suicide in 18 prisons in Turkey. The implementation of the prepared survey form and the demographic information of the prisoners and prisoners, the thoughts and feelings of the prisoners and prisoners about after and before the suicide attempt were collected and then processed in the SPSS program. According to the study, copies of suicides have an impact rate of 28%. As a result, it is estimated that the information and news about suicide behaviors occurring within or outside the institution may be heard in prison, and the prisoners and prisoners may be affected. Therefore, wherever the source is, it is believed that it will be useful to take the necessary measures to ensure that information and news about suicide behavior are carefully provided in the institution.
