Abstract:

Abstract This study deals with the relationship between wisdom and happiness in Turkish thought through the Orkhon Inscriptions belonging to the pre-Islamic period and the Turkish-Islamic classic Kutadgu Bilig. The concept of existence, knowledge and human being preserved in Turkish thought in the pre-Islamic and post-Islamic period is revealed within the framework of the concept of kut through these two works. Although the word kut is used separately from its context with meanings such as luck and luck in the daily language used by the people, it corresponds to a key concept in Turkish contemplation. Kut is a concept related to the bond between God and person. In the Orkhon Inscriptions and Kutadgu Bilig, gaining a blessing means that God takes under her protection and supports the person who strives to live according to tore. The word tore in Old Turkish is used to mean the order of God's creation. In Orkhon Inscriptions and Kutadgu Bilig, tore is mentioned in its original meaning. In both works, the word tore refers to the measures of life determined by God. In Turkish contemplation, a life according to tore is possible with wisdom. Because only a wise person understands the nature of the ceremony and organizes her life according to those criteria.
