Abstract:

In this study, the effects of different rootstock on plant growth, fruit quality and yield were investigated on scion. Beaufort Fee, Kingkong Fee, Hamarat Fee, Land Fee, Spirit Fee were used as rootstock, Ayer 38 Fee was used as the scion. As the control non-grafted and also self-grafted plants were tested in the experiments. According to the result, it was observed that rootstock diameter ranged 14.5 mm-19.8 mm, total yield 8.83-14.43 kg/m2, the number of fruit per plant ranged from 21.5-54.5. The effects of scion/rootstock combination on total yield were significant and last year, the 38 F / Hamarat grafting combination resulted in higer yield than the other grafting combinations. Scion diameter, fruit frimness, internode lenght, number of leaf, plant high, EC and pH value of juice, titratable acidity, soluble dry matter content, fruit height, fruit diameter were not affected by rootstocks. However, rootstock diameter, early yield, total yield, fruit weight, total fruit number were increased by rootstocks. Consequently, it was determined that tomato yield and fruit quality could be positively affected by appropriate rootstock selection.
