Interracial ozon therapy is a minimal invasive method that can be applied to patients with back pain and who do not respond to conservative treatment. This retrospective study aimed at evaluating clinical effectiveness, side effects and complication rates. The study included patients with lombal degenerative disk disease (LDDD) and intradiskal O2-O3 treatment between January 2016 and April 2018. Pain and work negligence levels were assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) in pre-injection, post-injection, postoperative periods of one month and one year. A total of 520 patients (270 men and 250 women) with an average age of 38.9 ± 5.7 years were included in the study. The first month after the injection and the first year after the injection, the VAS and ODI scores were significantly lower than the pre-injection scores (p <0.001). A decrease in the VAS score (more than 50%) was found in 60.2 percent of patients in the first month and 52.9 percent of patients in the first year. No significant side effects were recorded. Results: Intradiskal ozon therapy, which is one of the techniques of application of percutaneous for the treatment of back pain associated with LDDD, in conjunction with epidural steroid therapy, has successful results, clinical effectiveness and low side effects. It is one of the methods that should be considered before surgery in appropriate patients. (SETB-2020-05-074)
