ÖZET : Bu araştırmada, öğütülmüş hafif agreganın bağlayıcılık (puzzolanik) özelliğinden yararlanarak daha düşük maliyetli yapı malzemelerinin elde edilmesi olanakları araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla belirli bir inceliğe kadar kolayca öğütülebilen hafif agreganın belirli oranlarda çimento, kireç ve normal ince agrega ile birlikte kullanılmasıyla üretilen hafif blokların önemli fiziksel ve mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, öğütülmüş hafif agreganın bağlayıcılık özelliğinden yararlanarak sadece kendisinin kullanımı durumunda düşük birim ağırlığa ve belirli basınç dayanımına sahip ucuz bir yapı malzemesi elde edilebileceği gibi; buna az miktarda çimento, kireç ve normal ince agreganın ayrı ayrı veya birlikte katılarak daha iyi fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklere sahip yapı malzemeleri üretilebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Böylece; özellikle bazı kırsal alanda yöresel olarak bulunan hafif agrega öğütülerek düşük maliyetli ve uygun nitelikli bir malzeme olarak tarımsal yapılarda kullanılabilecektir. A RESEARCH ON USAGE POSSIBILITIES OF GROUND LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATES IN AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS SUMMARY : In this research, considering the property of binding of lightweight aggregate, the possibilities of obtaining low cost building materials were investigated. For this reason, the lightweight aggregate which can be easily ground down to a certain size was used as basic material. By mixing seperately or together cement, lime and normal fine aggregate with this basic materail in certain quantities, the lightweight blocks were produced and the important physical and mechanical properties of these blocks were determined. In conclusion, in case of using of the binding property of the ground lightweight aggregate itself, the low cost building materials which have low unit weight and a certain compressive strength can be obtained. At the same time, by using cement, lime and normal fine aggregate in small quantities, the building materials having more suitable physical and mechanical properties can be produced. So, low cost and suitable quality agricultural buildings can be constructed by using the lightweight aggregate which is locally available in some the rural areas, after grinding process.
This study has studied the possibilities of obtaining lower-cost building materials by taking advantage of the binding (puzzolanic) characteristics of the melted light aggregate. For this purpose, the important physical and mechanical characteristics of the light blocks produced with the use of light aggregates in certain proportions, as well as the normal fine aggregates, which can be easily melted to a certain thinness have been studied. The study found that by taking advantage of the binding characteristic of the melted light aggregate only in the case of its use it could be achieved a cheap building material with a low unit weight and a specific pressure resistance; it was concluded that a small amount of cement, clay and normal fine aggregate could be produced separately or together with building materials with better physical and mechanical properties. Thus; especially in some rural areas, the light aggregate located locally can be used in agricultural structures as a low-cost and adequate quality material.
