Siyaset arenasında yarışan tüm siyasi partiler maksimum oy oranına ulaşmak isterler. Bu amaca ulaşabilmeleri ise seçmenlerin beklentilerini, istek ve ihtiyaçlarını bilmek ve bu beklenti, istek ve ihtiyaçlara yönelik politikalar üretmekle mümkündür. Hedeflerine ulaşmak isteyen bir siyasi parti seçmen odaklı olmak durumundadır. Bu bakımdan seçmen davranışı, siyasi partiler ve adayların üzerinde durması gerekli bir olgudur. Bu çalışma, ailenin seçmen davranışları üzerindeki etkisinin farklı demografik özellikteki seçmenlerde farklılık gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek için hazırlanmıştır. Seçmen üzerinde var olduğu bilinen aile etkisinin şeklini ve derecesini bilmek siyasi parti ve adaylar açısından yararlı olacaktır
