Abstract This study was conducted among students from foundation universities and aimed to investigate the relationship between parental bonding and perfectionism in romantic relationships, considering several demographic variables such as age, sex, number of siblings, parents’ occupation, living with parents, marital status, duration of romantic relationship. The sample consists of 207 undergraduate and postgraduate students from several foundation universities in Istanbul, 120 out of them are female and 87 are male. In the research, with the object of collecting data, personal information form, parental bonding and the dyadic almost perfect scales was used. During the data analysis process, Ordinal Logistic Regression and Logistic Regression was used. According to the regular ordinal regression analysis, there is a significant rise of other-oriented perfectionism in romantic relationships among students who have strong parental bonding. However, as a result of the logistic ordinal regression analysis, there is a decrease of other-oriented perfectionism in romantic relationships while the rate of parental bonding is increase. For future researches, the population may be extended and attachment styles may be taken into consideration.
