In this work, the combustion behavior of pellets prepared from binary and triple blends of waste plastic, biomass and lignite was investigated in an experimental fixed bed combustion system. Market bags as plastic waste and the furniture factory waste powder as a source of biomass and Bingöl Karlıova coal as a lignite were used. The effect of process temperature and the plastic mixing ratio on the combustion behavior of pellets was studied. Combustion data obtained from varied bed temperatures has showed that ignition times and volatile and carbon burning times of the pellets decreased and combustion rates increased with the burning temperature. It was determined that combustion rates and yields of pellets increased with increasing plastic ratio in the blend pellets. It was concluded that waste plastic bags, are a very important environmental problem, can be burned with low quality lignite or waste biomass and used for energy production.
