Abstract:

With the transition to adulthood, changes in the roles of individuals and even adults between the ages of 18 and 29 have begun to occur. All the roles the society attributes to the woman and the man can be under the identification of the similarities and differences between the two sexes and the gender definition of what they mean socioculturally. The reflection of women and men in society is understood through gender roles. Parents’ attitudes play an important role on the children because their attitudes towards the children affect the children both the present and the future. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the social gender roles and parents’ attitudes in women in adulthood and early period disharmonic schemes. This research was prepared in accordance with the "relational scan model". It aims to determine the existence and/or degree of change between two or more variables together. The sample selection is made according to the type of random sample selection. The universe of the study is made up of women aged 18-29 living in Istanbul. The social gender roles have found a significant difference between seeing violence from family. People who have experienced domestic violence have seen a higher social gender role score in the total.
