Abstract:

Unlike other ethical types, virtue ethics emphasizes the character and virtue of the factor, which is the determining elements of moral life. Merit ethics focuses primarily on 'good life', concerning the subject of what kind of people individuals should be. When it comes to virtue ethics, Aristotle carries a significant value. We know that Aristotle has an irreversible place in philosophy. Thro the history of philosophy many thinkers, philosophers have been influenced by it. Some of them have been criticized or rejected. Aristotle, a student of Platon, assessed the thoughts of his teacher and his predecessor philosophers in a systematic integrity and presented their own thoughts in connection with the system he formed. Therefore, Aristotle was also called the system thinker. In this study, the subject of Aristotle's virtue ethics, a fundamentally recognized philosopher, was acquired. It is intended to deal with the formation and structure of the ethics. What is virtue? Why did Aristotle divide virtues into intellectual virtues and moral virtues? Can it be gained or comes from an external source? In this article, Aristotle’s opinions on virtue ethics are revealed through these questions.
