Abstract:

Nif Olympos Mountains Coating and Research Project is located in the common boundaries of the districts of İzmir, Kemalpaşa, Torbalı, Buca as a location. Ismael is located in the eastern part of the Gulf. On the north of Kemalpaşa (Nif / Kryos Tea) and Manisa (Sipylos) Mountains; on the east of the Smyrna-Sardeis path to the Little Menderes (Kaystros) Valley, the Karabel Pass; on the south of the Torbalı Mountains (Tulunay 2006). The project is carried out in four different areas. The periods of these four different mining areas are also different. When evaluated the skeletons taken from the extraction work done without supervision during the period, a total of 97 individuals were identified.  There is also a demographic study in each area. 50 of the identified individuals are men, 17 are women, 10 are children, and 4 are babies. 16 people have not identified their gender. Nif Olympos Mountains and Research Project has also found many pathological findings in the skeletons. Especially in these findings, the trepanation is very important. The trepanation sample dealt with in the Nif Olympos Mountains Hunting and Research Project is quite different from the Anadolu sample both technically and as an application area.
