Felsefi Bağlamda İnsan Hakları Eğitimini Yeniden Düşünmek

Abstract:

Okullarda insan hakları derslerinin yer almasının üzerinden yaklaşık yirmi yıllık bir zaman dilimi geçmesine rağmen, gençlerin şiddet ve ötekileştirmeye yönelik eğilimleri hız kesmeden devam etmektedir. Bu bağlamda insan hakları eğitiminin gerektiği gibi icra edilip edilmediği sorunsalı ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Söz konusu sorunsala istinaden bu çalışma ülkemizdeki insan hakları eğitiminin durumunu ve bu eğitimin niçin iyileştirilmesi gerektiğini tartışmayı amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çerçevede öncelikle insan hakları ile eğitim arasında nasıl bir bağın olduğu aydınlatılarak, insan hakları eğitiminin önemi ele alınmaktadır. Ardından ülkemizdeki insan hakları anlayışı ve eğitiminin durumu felsefi bir bakış açısıyla analiz edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Bu çerçevede insan hakları eğitiminin gerektiği gibi icra edilememesinin nedenleri sorgulanarak, bazı tespitlere ulaşılması hedeflenmektedir. Son tahlilde ise tespit edilen sorunlar bağlamında insan hakları eğitiminin iyileştirilmesine yönelik bazı öneriler ortaya koyulmaya çalışılacaktır.

Despite the approximately twenty-year period of human rights classes in schools, the youth’s tendency to violence and self-determination continues without a break. In this context, human rights issues are faced with whether education is performed as necessary. This study aims to discuss the state of human rights education in our country and why this education should be improved. In this framework, first of all, the importance of human rights education is discussed by illuminating the connection between human rights and education. Then the understanding of human rights and the state of education in our country is attempted to be analyzed from a philosophical perspective. In this context, questioning the reasons why human rights education is not performed as necessary, some findings are aimed at achieving. In the final assessment, there will be some suggestions for improving human rights education in the context of the identified problems.

Although human rights education has existed in schools for more than twenty years, youth’s tendencies towards violence and alienation continue without slowing down. At this juncture, it is confronted with a problem of whether Human Rights Education is duly performed or not. This research purposes to discuss the condition of human rights education in Turkey and why the education must be improved referring to the problem. Within this framework primarily what kind of connection between human rights and education will be clarified and the importance of human rights education will be addressed. After these, the condition of human rights perception and education in our country will be tried to analyze with a philosophical perspective. In this context, causes of not duly performing human rights education will be questioned and it will be aimed to make some points. In the last instance, it will be tried to give some suggestions towards the improvement of human rights education in the context of stated problems.
