Abstract:

The concept of artificial intelligence, first expressed by John McCarthy at the 1956 Dortmund Conference, is now regarded as the driving force of technology since the first half of this century as one of the key fields of research in computer engineering. Many countries around the world and countless companies are investing a lot in different areas of application in the field of artificial intelligence and are constantly launching new initiatives in return for this investment. Education and teaching are one of the areas of investment that attract attention to artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence, with its characteristics such as learning, making intelligent predictions, solving complex problems, adapting to changing conditions, adapting to different human languages and experiences, is also in the stage of direct contribution to the education and teaching process, including knowledge management in education. In fact, today, artificial intelligence has already entered the classroom, without giving students, teachers or families the opportunity to say “ welcome”, under the name of “intelligent, adaptable or personalized learning systems” has moved education in high schools and universities around the world to a different dimension. This size continues with the process of collecting and analyzing the ‘big data’ formed by each student, which is now impossible to manage and access. In short, it can be said that artificial intelligence contributes to education in two ways: the first, in the management and presentation of knowledge to students and teachers in the management stage of education; the second, in the teaching role stage, directly involved in learning and teaching processes. In this study, the subject of artificial intelligence in education is studied under three titles and with three questions. In the first part, artificial intelligence and related concepts "What is artificial intelligence actually?" It is discussed with question. In the second part, how will artificial intelligence contribute to education and, as a result, how will artificial intelligence transform education if there is such a potential, "how will artificial intelligence develop education?" Reply with the question. In the last chapter, “What are the practices of artificial intelligence in education?” Under the question will be presented the practices of artificial intelligence that can be used/used in education and teaching. It is believed that this study will contribute to the field by presenting the subject of artificial intelligence by creating a general framework under the educational title and also by revealing to the teacher and the student how it can be used.
