Abstract This study aims to identify, understand and problematize the meanings attributed by the production of knowledge in Physical Education in relation to discussions about sexuality in the school context through specific Brazilian Physical Education journals. Methodologically, this is a quantitative-qualitative research that is theoretically and analytically supported by references to post-critical theories. In the 13 journals investigated there were 04 publications focusing on gender/sexuality and 03 specific publications on sexuality, which were described and analyzed throughout the study. These data corroborate with the need for more studies and publications about the issues of sexuality in the school environment that may contribute to the formation of Physical Education teachers and their pedagogical practices, in order to, above all, encourage respect for plurality.
