The study aimed to identify the profile of female soccer athletes the adult category of the central region of the state of Minas Gerais and possible implications for the sport. We applied a questionnaire to 80 athletes who competed in the 1st round of Jogos de Minas 2012, Central B. And obtained the following results: the average age of the athletes was 20.01 years (± 3.77); the major initiation site was on the street (56.25%) and physical education classes at school (35%); on average, at 11.81 years (± 3.45), was the period when most started in the systematic practice of futsal, and most started between childhood and adolescence (46.25% in childhood and adolescence 51.25%); the age of member ship in a federation occurred, on average, at 18.19 years (± 3.39); time systematic practice on average was 8.18 years (±4.17); 41.25% chose the pleasure to play and have fun as most relevant factor in the years of systematic practice,and during the competition period, no athlete was paid to play, with 88.75% of the athletes said they have already received payment for playing, 11.25% were never to playand 95% would like to getto play. This study has concluded that the female initiation of sports futsal significant differences when compared to males; the female initiation remains far from anearly specialization; School has akey role in promoting the sport and is necessary an effective intervention of institutions promoting the sport for the evolution offe male futsal in the State of Minas Gerais.
