Abstract:

The nature of the educational-learning services offered at universities is affected by the process that is carried out by teachers according to the ethical rules. The education and teaching ethics in higher education is also associated with the commitments of students to the university. This study aims to study the ethics of education and teaching in higher education and the perceptions of commitment of students of the educational faculty according to the university type variable. This research, conducted by the Nicel research method, is designed by the scanning model. The study group consists of 463 educational faculty students from two public universities, one of which is research university in Turkey. The opinions of students on education-learning ethics and commitment in the university are determined by the "Education-learning ethics scale-student form and student commitment scale in higher education". The analysis of the data used the arithmetic average, standard deviation, pearson correlation ratio, multi-variant variance analysis (MANOVA) test. According to the research results, bachelor students believe that teachers behave at a high level of ethics in terms of educational and teaching ethics. It is also determined that students have a high level of student commitment in higher education. In terms of the type of university, there has been significant differences between the views of students on the ethics of education and teaching in higher education and the levels of commitment in favour of the research university. There is a meaningful relationship between the views of university students on education and teaching ethics in higher education and the levels of commitment they feel to their universities in the middle and in the positive direction.
