Abstract:

Şehzâde Mehmed Complex, which was built by Magnifient Süleyman on the behalf of his son Şehzâde Mehmed who died at a young age, is one of important examples architectural virtue of code for a Şehzade. The basic give rise to the existince the complex is the Şehzâde Mehmed Tomb. The decoration techniques used in the ornomantation of Şehzâde Mehmed shrine are undestood that, the verses of selected in the meterials and writing program arrrenged within ceratain program. Plaster decoration, which is one of the composed of the ornomentation elements of the tomb, privately in window openings, reveals itself revzen aperture decoration. İn addition to the herbal and geometrical decorations in the revzen ornament of the structure, there is also a pattern of the inside the geometric shaped compartments and the arrangament of the herbal ornament and writing forms. Besides, the motifs used adornment in the plant ornamental decoration of Revzen, stone, tile, metal, and hand-drawn, decorations of the tomb as well as motifs such as palmette, rumî, hatayî and leaf; like a narcissus and hyacinth. İt is seen that both colourful and transparent glasses are used in Revzens. The Revzan decorations of the Şehzâde Mehmed Shrine, which is the issue of our declaration, will evalauted with smilar tomb examples in terms of techniques, metarials and motifs usedwithin the period, we consider that this will help research and help publications working in the topic. İn the mean time, the shrine’s Revzen Ornomentations were the most damaging pars of the explosion 2016 in İstanbul. The Revzen decorations of the tomb, which was photographed in the land work that we made before the explosion, have been the last recordings of the Revzen That we thought renewed one or many times at different times.
