The relationship between health expenditure and economic growth was first studied in literature by Grossman (1972). According to Grossman, the expenditure to the health sector has an impact on the economic growth. The aim of this study is to study the 1998-2016 period with the data in the context of the economic development, health expenditure and environmental pollution relationship with the panel unit root test, Johansen-Juselius panel integration and Dimirtuschi-Hurlin (2012) panel causality tests. According to the analysis, there is a two-way causal relationship from economic development to health expenditure, a one-way causal relationship from air pollution to health expenditure, and a one-way causal relationship from economic development to air pollution.
