Bu çalışmada müzik öğrenme ve öğretme yaklaşımları dersi hakkındaki öğrenci görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılının güz döneminde İç Anadolu bölgesinde bir üniversitenin müzik öğretmenliği bölümünde okumakta olan 23 ikinci sınıf öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanmış ve dersi almış olan öğretmen adaylarına uygulanmıştır. Görüşme formu neticesinde elde edilen veriler üzerinde içerik analizi yapılmış, sonrasında kod ve kategori oluşturularak değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, ders hakkındaki öğretmen adayı görüşlerinin çoğunlukla olumlu olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adayları ders içeriğinde bulunan sınıf-içi uygulama örnekleri ile konu öğretimi üzerine tecrübe kazandıklarını, topluluk önünde ders anlatma imkânı bulduklarını ve mesleki deneyim kazandıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Çalışmada bazı öğrenciler ise ders içeriğine çalgı öğretimi ile ilgili alıştırmaların da eklenmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Müzik öğretmenlerinin meslek hayatları boyunca aktif bir çalgı öğreticisi oldukları göz önüne alındığında, sadece çalabilen değil, aynı zamanda o çalgıyı öğretebilen öğretmenler yetiştirebilmek önem taşımaktadır. Tüm bu veriler göz önüne alındığında bireysel çalgı dersini yürüten öğretim elemanlarının derslerinde öğretmen adaylarının teknik gelişimlerinin yanı sıra öğretim kabiliyetlerindeki gelişime de odaklanmaları önerilmektedir. Ayrıca bir sonraki program güncellemesinde bu ders veya muadiline ayrılan haftalık sürenin artırılması ve bireysel çalgı-piyano derslerinin öğretimini konu alan derslerin müfredata eklenmesi önerilmiştir.
This study aims to study the student’s views on the course of music learning and teaching approaches. The study’s work group consists of 23 second-class teachers candidates who are studying in the music teaching department of an university in the Anatolian region during the best period of the 2019-2020 educational year. For the purpose of gathering the data, a semi-configured interview form was prepared and applied to the teachers candidates who received the lesson. The data obtained by the interview form was analyzed and evaluated by creating codes and categories. The results obtained showed that the teacher's candidate's opinions on the course were mostly positive. The teaching candidates also pointed out that they gained experience in the subject teaching with examples of class-in-class practice found in the course content, found the possibility of teaching lessons in front of the community and gained professional experience. In the study, some students said that the course should be added to the content of the play teaching. Considering that music teachers are an active play teacher throughout their professional lives, it is important to train teachers who can not only play, but also teach that play. Given all these data, it is recommended that the teachers who conduct the individual play course in their classes focus on the technical development of the teaching candidates as well as on the development of their teaching skills. In the subsequent program update, it is also recommended to increase the weekly duration dedicated to this course or edition and to add the courses on the teaching of individual play-piano courses.
This study aims to examine the students' views about the music learning and teaching approaches class. The study population consists of 23 sophomores in the department of music teaching in a university in the Central Anatolia Region in the fall semester of 2019-2020 academic year. For data collection, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and applied to teacher candidates who took the class. Content analysis was performed on the data obtained from the interview form, and the code category was then created and evaluations were made. The results show that the candidate teachers’ views about the class were mostly positive. Besides, teacher candidates stated they gained experience in subject teaching via the in-class application examples in the class content and had the opportunity to teach in front of a crowd, and gained professional experience. Some students stated that exercises related to instrument teaching should be added to the class content. Considering music teachers are active instrument teachers throughout their professional lives, it is important to train teachers who cannot only play but also teach the instrument. Through all the data, it is recommended that the lecturers giving the individual instrument class focus on the development of the teacher candidates in their teaching skills as well as their technical development. In the next updated schedule, it is suggested to increase the weekly time for this class or its equivalent and to add the classes on teaching of individual instrument-piano classes to the curriculum.
